About Me

Hello and welcome!

My name is Melissa and I am an AuDHD crafty girl who has pretty much done it all.

My creativity and love for beautiful things has always been what drives me. When I was little I loved to decorate and re-decorate my dollhouse and bedroom. I held “art openings” in my grandparent’s basement featuring pictures I colored with quirky sayings and puns, and I was always spacing out and doodling in class. As I grew I expressed myself through writing and loved to sing. By the time I graduated college I was into decoupage to make my own inexpensive decor for my apartment, and learned how to make trendy beaded jewelry so I could have a different necklace for every outfit.

My love for making jewelry led me to learn how to solder in 2009, and I started Cheap Frills to sell my work at local art shows. Due to severe carpal tunnel, I had to stop making as much jewelry in 2024, which led me back to paper-crafting, a hobby I had picked up in 2003 and always loved.

As a long-time paper crafter, my journey began in 2003 at a scrapbooking class. Soon after I was making cards as well as home decor using beautiful papers and embellishments. After a few years I began teaching others. It just made sense as I was an elementary teacher at the time. I realized that I loved to empower others and help them express their creativity, especially when they thought they weren’t creative.

Now I am a junk journaler and creator of a lot of things. Friends call me their “crafty guru” because I’ve tried it all, and I love to share, so ask me anything!

Hi! I’m Poe,

You might call me Mama’s Muse. I am also in charge of quality control, shipping, and naps. Quite frankly, despite what she says, I am #CATBOSS and make all the major decisions around here. I have two sisters, but they are insignificant. Some call me cute, but I am a magnificent black panther and I rule this house.
